27 months! And one day!🤷♀️
We have been on a crazy sleep schedule lately, and mama can't hang with little girl's energy!
After forgetting things that I'm usually on top of.... my wonderful husband took over daddy daughter time and I got a glorious long nap today. My brain feels much less foggy. Sleep is good!
Last year's post from when she was 15 months was just the same as I'm feeling today.
In awe of the goodness of God, and thankful for 27 months with our beautiful girl!
Also praying for the firefighters who don't get to come home to their comfy houses every night because they are out helping to keep California from burning down. I just think about the jobs I have had in my life, and the worst parts of the summer at those jobs. Frappuccino Happy Hour isn't close in any way to the conditions that our firefighters work in every summer. God bless them and their families!
Exciting new thing: we are trialing a heat moisture exchanger (HME) for little periods of time during the day, hoping to increase the intervals she wears it successfully, while decreasing the time that she wears the MyAirvo humidification device that she has used for the past year to keep her airway humidified.
The bonus for the switch is that the MyAirvo isn't very mobile, while an HME just goes wherever Annelise goes, no cord attached!
She has to get used to it little by little, because the filters that are on either end of the little plastic device that fits onto the end of her trach require a little more effort to breathe through, so it is best to warm up to it. The filters help to hold in some of the humidity when she breathes through her trach. You and I use our nose and mouth to warm up the air before it reaches our lungs. Fun fact is that sometimes they refer to an HME as an artificial nose 😄
