We had a light show outside our hospital window tonight that included fireworks 🎇 and lightning ⛈ at the same time! Silly Omaha!
So many things to be thankful for tonight. While we’d still like partners in prayer to ask God for healing and growth for her airway, so her tongue doesn’t continue to take up too much space and block the air... and also for healing and proper drainage of the CSF in her brain, so that she would not need a shunt placed... we got to experience some amazing moments today too!
One moment was when her heart surgeon came in to say that he looked at her echocardiogram from this morning, and her heart looks so good, that he doesn’t see the need for another echo for a whole month!
During rounds with all the doctors, the only thing they changed was to increase the amount of fortification that they added to the milk that she’s getting, so she’ll take in more calories and hopefully gain weight. And she did gain almost 100 grams according to the scale tonight! 🥳🤩. Previously, the largest weight gain we had seen was 20 grams!
She had a bath and we got to change her bedding to the new Minnie Mouse pink blankets that we got for her 🎀😁. Then we put the cutest hat ever on this adorable baby and hearts were melted 🥰.
I know there’s a long way to go for our little miss, especially with so many airway issues... but today her job was to rest and gain some weight, and she did just that!! Plus, I got to hold her in the evening 💖 Thank you Lord for days like today.
