1:45 am update:
Well, all of her blood test results came back within normal limits! The nurses say she looks good otherwise so we’ll just watch her for now. Her heartrate seems to be back to its usual numbers... still jumping around quite a bit, but that we have seen before...little jumps, just not those big leaps and dives. Hopefully a cardiologist tomorrow can explain what might be going on! For now, I’m so happy that she’s obviously comfortable, and that they are watching her closely tonight, and that the monitor stopped sounding the alarm!

Morning Update:
I much prefer these boring days when the baby just sleeps the day away. She’s had a few “episodes” today... but with repositioning, she bounced back and went right back to sleep.
So far we’ve just had the good kind of excitement... meeting the cousins! My heart is so full after watching Rachel and Abi light up at getting to lay eyes on the baby cousin they have been praying so often for. ❤️π₯°
Evening Update:
I was about to go to sleep early today, when Annelise’s heart rate alarm went off. That’s a new one... this time all the numbers that have to do with oxygenation of her blood are great, and her blood pressure is fine... it’s just that her heart rate is leaping from number to number, and then hanging out lower than we’ve ever seen it. Apparently it’s not at an emergency low level number... but I am still having a hard time watching the nurses be so calm and talk about what they’ll have for dinner, when something is very different with the newest little love of my life, and I don’t know what it is! Kevin and I are just hanging out and waiting for blood tests to come back. The cardiologist who was consulted has seen this type of activity be an indication of infection. Their guess was a UTI, and I would much prefer that to an infection of any of her surgery sites.
Meanwhile, the good news is that Annelise seems to not be phased by all of this activity in the slightest. She’s sleeping soundly. Only opening up one eye to see what the fuss is about when her mom won’t stop opening up the doors to her isolette to bug her.
We should have the results of the testing soon.
Throwing the test results and my anxiety to the Lord. Take it away, amen!
