July 6th - Afternoon update

Update for specific prayer: When we walked back in to Annelise’s NICU room, the lights were up and three professionals were standing over her bed, helping her to recover from two major desatting episodes.  She had some junk caught in the small space in her throat that she needs to remain open so air can get through.  We aren’t there yet, but the idea of reintubating did come up, because it’s too invasive and risks harming her airway to keep deep suctioning the junk that she can’t cough out of her lungs.  Praying that the junk gets free and leaves her room to breathe!

We got a visit from the cardiologists today to discuss the changes in Annelise’s heart rate last night.  The main idea is that all of her lab results, and oxygen saturations look good, and she is pink and calm... so there is nothing that requires intervention right now.  They will watch her numbers, but as long as she’s “tolerating” it, having a heart rate that’s in the 80’s is not unsafe for her.  The idea that these episodes might be indicating a different problem in her body, is why they are watching her labs closely... but for now, she is calmer than I am through these episodes!
She has also been dipping in her respiratory rate occasionally. Makes me hold my breath too!☹️ Praying that she keeps up the nice deep breaths, and that her heart rhythms average out healthily.  I recognized today that this girl is powered by prayer!  I don’t think there’s a part of her body that hasn’t been prayed for!
We’ve got more family in town visiting today!  Hooray!🥰
I’ll be sure to update later too!
Hope you all have an amazing day.  Thank you for loving our girl and praying for her!❤️
