She has a fever π. It didn't show up until this morning. We're still waiting for some cultures to come back from the lab... So wondering if she'll end up having a UTI... Which is common for kiddos with neural tube defects like Annelise has. We want to avoid UTI's as much as possible because, well, who wouldn't?! But also because her kidneys have reflux which means if her bladder is infected, the infection could reflux to her kidneys and cause them damage. She is already on antibiotics, so if it is a UTI, hopefully it will be gone soon!
She has been given one dose of Ativan, which is an anti-anxiety med but also can stop Seizures... Just to see what happens today while we are waiting for the video EEG. I am so grateful for the people here working for Annelise. She has a dream team of nurses (thank you God for scheduling them!) who know her and just love on her so well... her doctors have been very thorough and are now looking into the possibility of Seizures even though the EEG last Monday said no sign of them. We don't know if she has one, or more than one issue going on at once... But they are using their smarts to figure it out.
Praying for comfort for Annelise and us as we figure out what is going on with her physically/neurologically. Asking God to just take it away! Connect some neurons of some sort or whatever it takes, I know He can do it. Also just giving her ventricles, synapses, neurons, and all the other brainy words to God and recognizing He has her, He has us, in His hands always. We give praise to the Lord for what He has already done in our lives, and know He will always be near to us, regardless of our circumstances. I think that's the biggest thing I'm coming to see lately, is that He is doing big things even when I can't see them, and if He asks us to walk a path we really don't want to walk, He makes it doable, and is there with comfort when it's hard, like now.
Annelise was invited to her first birthday celebration!πππ
We're so excited that our friend Ember is turning 3 today! She is amazing and she always has the best hair bows! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEAUTIFUL EMBER! π
We're getting the slumber party started here in the NICU with all of Annelise's crib mates! ππ
- Another week has gone by! Today marks exactly 3 months since we arrived at the Rainbow House, and exactly 12 weeks since Annelise was born! Our world is definitely upside down, but blessed beyond measure by the existence of Annelise Faithπ
- 24-hour long video EEG tomorrow. Not sure what time it will begin yet. She's with her favorite night nurse again, which means mom and dad can get some real sleep too!
